Present Practice, founded in 2018, is the technical arm of freeashleyjohnson and focuses on architecture, residential and commercial, and education facilitation in the form of workshops and hands on activities. Present Practice is open to commissions up and down the West Coast of America.

Freeashleyjohnson, created from perpetual curiosity and an exhaustive list of hobbies, centers on all forms of making, with an emphasis on painting and drawing - the scale ranging from wall murals to hand held works. Her current studio space is located at Parker Street Studios in Vancouver, BC. Her painting practice takes inspiration from the symbolism of 14th century depictions of saints, the humanity of Francis Bacon, and the color washes of Takao Tanabe. Thematically, she paints to understand the daily rhythm of a newly domestic life.
